SEPTEMBER IS PEDIATRIC
CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
September is National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Chances are you know a family that’s been impacted. Few communities are unaffected, that’s why we're asking you to “Go Gold” to help spread the word.
Why is awareness needed? Because cancer is the No. 1 cause of death by disease in children, yet
it's consistently underfunded. Less than 4% of the federal budget for cancer research is dedicated to pediatric cancer.
Awareness leads to action and gets us closer to a cure.
Your participation shows support to families currently struggling with the disease and acknowledges those who have already experienced loss.
Whether a school, business, community organization or individual, we invite you to create a campaign that helps raise awareness.
School athletic teams wearing gold in September is particularly visible — think gold shoelaces, hair accessories, socks, etc.
Students can make posters or hang gold ribbons throughout the town.
Individuals change social profile images and virtual backgrounds.
Restaurants - we can supply stickers for your pizza or takeout boxes.
Breweries - we can supply coasters.
Have a connection to big business or professional sports team? Connect us, we'll work with them to generate buzz.
So many little things can make a big impact!
We encourage you to come up with your own way to foster awareness and are happy to answer any questions. To enhance your efforts, you can download flyers and fact sheets to print with more information about pediatric cancer and our organization.

Your donations go directly to help families dealing with pediatric cancer and supporting targeted research. Experts in the field believe that finding a cure for DIPG may lead to a cure for all cancers.
